Registration Queue
When registration is set to Admin Approval mode, new users who register are placed in a pending queue instead of gaining immediate access. The Registration Queue shows these pending users and lets you approve or reject each registration.
Admin only
The Registration Queue is accessible to admin users. Pending registrations appear in the User Admin page, where admin actions are available for each pending user.
Activation mode dependent
This feature is only relevant when the registration activation mode is set to Admin Approval in Registration Settings. If you are using No Activation, Email Activation, or Disabled mode, there are no pending registrations to manage.
Key features
📋 Pending User List
View all users waiting for approval with their registration details
✅ Approve Registrations
Activate pending users so they can log in and use the server
❌ Reject Registrations
Deny pending registrations that should not be granted access
🔍 Status Filtering
Filter the user list to show only pending registrations
Viewing pending users
Pending registrations appear in the User Admin page with an Awaiting status badge. You can filter the user list by status to see only pending registrations.
Each pending user row shows the username and registration date. Expand the row to see additional details including the email address provided during registration.
Approving registrations
To approve a pending registration, use one of two methods:
- Row action — Click the approve button directly in the user’s table row for quick approval
- Expanded panel — Expand the user row to see a highlighted approval banner with an Approve button
When you approve a user:
- Their system account is created on the server (Linux user, home directory, default applications)
- Their status changes from pending to active
- If the welcome email is enabled, they receive a welcome notification
- They can now log in to the dashboard
Rejecting registrations
To reject a pending registration, delete the pending user from the User Admin page. This removes the registration request permanently.
Best practices
Do
- Check the registration queue regularly when using Admin Approval mode — users are waiting for access
- Review each registration's email address to verify it looks legitimate before approving
- Enable the welcome email in Registration Settings so approved users receive login instructions automatically
Don't
- Don't leave users in the pending queue indefinitely — if you are not going to approve them, reject them promptly
- Don't use Admin Approval mode unless you intend to actively monitor the queue — consider Email Activation or No Activation if manual approval is not practical
